Apple’s Free Case for iPhone 4

iPhone 4 Case

iPhone 4 Case

Okay to be fair to Apple it seems appropriate to post about their iPhone 4 Case program.  On a side note the day after my last post about the phone’s network problems, Apple emailed me to let me know that free cases are available.  You need to apply to the program within 30 days of purchase. Can’t they just ship them now with the bumper?  Then apparently after Sept 30th 2010 they will have solved the problem. I have to give credit to Apple to own up to the failure and hand out free bumpers so quickly.

The New iPhone Must be Held Carefully.

// July 24th, 2010 // No Comments » // Tech

Why did I post this because I love the narrator’s voice, he’s the best.  This vid already has over a million views so why not help it along with the 10  to 20 views more with my blog post..  Ok. How the hell did this flaw get through Apple to the sales floor.   Someone at Apple knew this phone had this flaw and was to scared to call up the big “Jobs” and say “uh we need to talk” instead, we now all own a flawed phone.  This phone for the most part has character it’s sensitive and needs to be handled carefully..

What’s the difference between 3G and 4G networks?

// July 5th, 2010 // No Comments » // Tech

Unfortunately iPhone still runs on 3G network.

Unfortunately iPhone still runs on a 3G network.

The big question: what’s the difference between 3G and 4G networks? Information.  A lot of it.  The 3G runs with a multi-media support network at 200 kbits of speed.  Whereas the 4G network operates on an IP packet switched network with a mobile ultra broadband gigabit speed. (5,000 bits of information faster)  That’s right your phone will operate with full broadband capabilities.  I’m happy with the 3G iphone I have now.  But a phone streaming broadband is sweet.  Unfortunately, iPhone’s don’t run on the 4G network yet, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time when AT&T will introduce 4G.

Top 3 Blog Directories.

// March 21st, 2010 // 2 Comments » // Social Media, Tech

I don't own one of these. . .yet.

I don't own one of these. . .yet.

After try/fail on several different blog directories. I have come up with the top 3 that will actually help you get your blog noticed.

1. BlogCatalog. Hands down the best blog directory. You can login and list as many blogs as you like. They also integrate your twitter feed into your recent activity feed. BlogCatalog offers an option to follow other blogs and leave comments within the sidebar. It’s nice to see the comments and know that people are following your blog. Feedburner stats just fall short sometimes, don’t they?

2. Blogged. They give you a rating right away yes. 7. something or other -very good. Hmm yes instant feedback “thank you it is good isn’t it”. They also, like blogcatalog, show which people are following you and how many have viewed your blog. If you click on their icon you can follow back. It’s a clean and easy directory to navigate.

3. BlogFlux. This is your standard blog directory with listings of different categories A-Z. They do offer themes for your blog and stat tracking which can help.

Which blog directory should you be on? Well, as many as you can, but these are my top three for now. Things change so fast.

Digital Media TV: Episode 3 Tweetdeck is Valuable.

// February 21st, 2010 // No Comments » // Social Media, Tech

I am still enthusiastic about twitter. Better late than never. But one tool that helps me with all of my social media accounts is tweetdeck. Tweetdeck has a great interface that lists columns of: all friends, mentions, new followers, and searches. It works very well with twitpic and youtube videos. If you don’t have it download it now, it’s free. Keep participating.

Wanted to emphasize again to do it now! I mean register your domain – (passion) build your blog/website and start participating.  Now’s the time.  In this week’s video I also talk about one of our customer’s MJSuberStudio.  Melissa Suber manages her online presence there.  She has worked in the animation industry (Disney, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon) for over 10 years and is an accomplished fine artist.  You can also follow her on Twitter.

iPad Touch Stats and Review.

ipad_touch

Weighing in at 1.5 lbs with a 9.7in display Apple revealed the iPad at the keynote January 27, 2010 – I was like another money making product from Apple and does anyone really need this.  Yes I was skeptical.  So I’ve taken some time and researched it’s benefits a bit and can only think of 3 major benefits to me.

1. Reading digital books, magazines.  Finally I will be able to read local newspapers and e-books.  Have you tried reading them on your iphone yet? It’s not easy.

2. The Maps application looks so good.  Again instead of a small GPS screen you could have your ipad sitting on the seat next to you with a nice big map pointing you in the right direction.

3. Memory and battery life. The iPad has a 10 hour battery life, nuff said. (See my earlier posts on the iphone)

Will I rush out to buy this? Not at this time but I am sure I will see a lot of users hitting the local coffee shops with their new ipads surfing.
